Topic 1: ¡Buen Provecho! Savoring the Art of Ordering Food and Drinks in Spanish
Classroom Lesson: Vocabulary and phrases for ordering in restaurants.
Immersive Tour: Dining at a traditional Colombian restaurant and interacting with the waitstaff in Spanish. The same day we will visit to the ridge of the Bay of Santa Marta. We will also go on a Caribbean cooking tour. Vegetarian option of this experience available.
DAY 2
Topic 2: Your Voice, Your Choice: Exploring Spanish Vocabulary for Preferences and Opinions
Classroom Lesson: Vocabulary and phrases for expressing preferences and opinions.
Immersive Tour: Day at the beach and hikes in the Tayrona National Park. The park offers a big variety of flora and fauna because it includes two ecosystems between the mountain and the sea. It boasts fascinating wildlife including red howler and titi monkeys, red woodpeckers, iguanas, tropical marine life, and more than 400 species of birds, such as eagles, condors and parrots. There we will make our immersive tour that day.
DAY 3
Topic 3: ¡Aventura en la Ruta! Navigating Spanish Directions with a Smile
Classroom Lesson: Vocabulary related to giving and asking for directions.
Immersive Tour: Guided walking tour of Santa Marta, practicing asking for directions in Spanish. We will visit the historic center of the city, the oldest in South America. Tours of: Bolívar Park, San Francisco Square, Cathedral Alley, Cathedral Square, Mail Alley, Santander Park, and the San Juan de Dios Chapel. We also will visit to the Gold Museum – Customs House. In this place you will learn about the history of the indigenous people of the Tairona ethnic group. These sites will be the perfect setting to practice finding the specific place we want to go to.
DAY 4
Topic 4: ¡Sitios Mágicos! Unraveling the Charms of Colombian Landmark Descriptions in a breathtaking biological reserve.
Classroom Lesson: Vocabulary for describing places and landmarks.
Immersive Tour: Visiting magic areas in the biological reserve and describing them in Spanish.
In the Paso del Mango Natural Biological Reserve and the Mahogany Reserve you can see a diversity of animals, including fish brought from the Amazon. We will be doing the Cocoa tour and an ecological walk.
DAY 5
Topic 5: From Despertar to Dormir: Nurturing Language through Daily Routines
Classroom Lesson: Expressing daily activities and routines. We also will be covering the topic: Past tense conjugation and expressing past experiences.
Immersive Tour: Visit to Rodadero. It is one of the emblematic sites of tourism in Santa Marta. It is full of restaurants, hotels and a wide pedestrian boardwalk facing the sea. Many workers gather in this place to carry out their daily routines, which is why it is the right place to do the corresponding immersive practice.
DAY 6
Topic 6: “Me Gustas” and “Me Caes Bien”: Managing social relationships!
Classroom Lesson: In this lesson, we will immerse ourselves in the wonderful world of expressing feelings in Spanish. We will learn colorful phrases, unique expressions, and how to use them to communicate with clarity and passion. Get ready to unleash your emotions!
Immersive Tour: Visit to playa Bello Horizonte. It is a wide and clean beach; the waves are soft and the water temperature is wonderful. On Bello Horizonte beach, you can enjoy the sand or the sea that allows you to go up to about 50 meters without problems. There are areas with straw awnings that can be used to rest in the shade. This beach is the right place to capture the best sunrises and sunsets in Santa Marta. Bello Horizonte is surrounded by a wide variety of entertainment venues and restaurants.
DAY 7
Topic 7: Beyond the Bilingual: Unveiling the Quirks of Spanish Words
Classroom Lesson: Epicene nouns. Think of them as gender-neutral nouns in Spanish! During this class, we will also be covering the topic of the correct use of articles, prepositional phrases, and filler words.
Immersive Tour: Visit to Sierra Minca. Nestled in the lush Colombian mountains near Santa Marta, Sierra Minca beckons adventure seekers and nature lovers. Imagine refreshing waterfalls cascading down vibrant jungles, colorful birds singing in the crisp mountain air, and endless opportunities for exploration. Get ready to discover Sierra Minca, a hidden gem waiting to unveil its beauty.

Each topic will consist of a series of lessons and corresponding immersive experiences to reinforce the language learning process. The degree of difficulty of each lesson will be adapted to the level of proficiency of the Spanish language according to the knowledge of each student. Price
The price includes: 4 hours of classes a day and permanent accompaniment during the cultural part of the program (approximately 8 more hours). The student will also receive a guidebook, materials, level test and certificate.
Hours in the classroom: 20 hours.
Practice hours on the Academic-Cultural Journey: 40 hours (accompaniment and practice of Spanish in context).
Academic-Cultural activities plus transportation in Medellín, lodging, tickets to parks and tours, breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, supplies and guidebook, PayPal’s commission fee, organization and logistics: Total price: 3,520 USD.
Reservations: to reserve the Academic-Cultural Journey, the student must previously deposit 50% (1,760 USD) of the value of the package.
The remaining 50% of the money (1,760 USD) must be deposited 15 days before trip start. The money must be transferred to the PayPal account of LEARN SPANISH WITH A NATIVE SPEAKER. As soon as the reservation is confirmed, I will make the first invoice. Later, 8 days before starting classes, I will send the second invoice in PayPal.
IMPORTANT: Note: Although there are established dates for the Academic-Cultural Journey, it is worth mentioning that you can also contact me anytime to schedule the dates of your preference. Likewise, you can choose the destination you want in Colombia or Latin America to carry out your immersive experience.
In addition, you can also do the Academic-Cultural Journey individually and privately or in couples.
In the academic part, you can choose the topics of your interest, therefore, the topics that I have proposed for classes can vary as you wish and according to your level.
